Geoff Mackay’s Top Tep Superheroes

by Geoff Mackay on October 4, 2010

As a long time comic book fan I am writing my top 10 Superheroes list.

Find out who make me favorite superhero list and how they stack up against other superhero characters.

10 Punisher – The Punisher is one of the first “anti-heroes”, or a hero that doesn’t always act as nice as we would like. The Punisher started the ball rolling for the darker side of comics, and when comics like The Watchmen and The Dark Knight Returns. Though his movies have always sucked I have always loved the dark side of his comics.

9 Wonder Woman - The World’s most well-known female superhero has been through many different incarnations throughout history. She had a popular TV show, has her own comic book, and has a spot on the Justice League of America. Wonder Woman is a character that girls and women can look up to. With a movie in the works Wonder Women will soon get a resurgence. Not to mention

8 Iron Man – I was never a really big fan of Iron Man the comics but his popularity has increased a lot since the two movies have come out. His gadgets and gizmos intrigue people and comics have been increasingly popular in the last couple of years.

7 Green Lantern – I have always loved Green Lantern but his story lines were never that great. I feel that will change once the movie comes out. The relaunch of the series, the re-establishing of the Corps, and the return of Hal Jordan has made Green Lantern shoot up onto the list of top superheroes. Green Lantern will certainly be a top character in the coming years.

6 Superman – Personally I am not a fan of Superman. He is a character that is virtually no one that can hurt him. I never understood why people have no idea who he is. All Clarke Kent has to do is put on glasses and he is disguised. He is only in the top ten since he has been around so long.

5 Hulk - One reason fans resonate so well with The Hulk is that we all get angry and so many of us can relate to wanting to release the rage within us. A hit movie and another on the way, video games, his own comic, cartoons, and toys make The Hulk truly a heavy hitter.

4 Spawn – Before Spawn comics were getting boring. But Todd MacFarlane change it all with Spawn. The success of Spawn has paved the way for other independent comics, showing you don’t have to be part of DC or Marvel to make it big.

3 Batman - Batman has struck a chord with fans around the world. The Dark Knight is hugely popular with a multiple hit movies and many different comic titles to choose from. The fact that he is a real human without any superpowers strikes a chord to everyday people.

2 Wolverine - Wolverine is certainly one of Marvel comic’s most popular superheroes. He was pretty much the focus of the X-Men movies and helped make a star out of Hugh Jackman. Wolverine has quickly risen to the top of the X-Men as the fans most favorite character. It is his gruff character and good heart that fans loved about Logan

1 Spiderman -  is by far the best superhero. He has certain likability about him. He is human and has real life issues. There is something about Spiderman that everyone can relate to.

Also his has a long list of good villains and sub characters to make his comic interesting and ongoing. Spider-Man is Marvel comic’s number one superhero, with legions of fans, blockbuster films, and many hot comics to read.
